“Boris” Morning Prayer
Sadly, for reasons which we understand, our churches still remain closed for public worship. However, the lockdown has been eased to the extent that up to 6 people can now meet in the open, so long as they remain “socially distanced”. This morning at 9AM (Tuesday June 10th) we held Morning Prayer at the Lych Gate at Kelsale Church and providentially precisely 6 people turned up!
We strictly followed the Government’s guidelines: no more than 6 people present (therefore with the risk that a seventh would be sadly turned away), in the open air and at least 2m apart. Participants brought their own seating and Bibles.
We will continue Tuesday Morning Prayer on a pilot basis for the remaining (three) Tuesdays of June but it will be weather-dependant. If, on the Monday evening, the BBC website shows the weather for Saxmundham to be either below 13ºC or with a greater than 50% chance of rain, then the service will be cancelled (as it might if it rains at the time!).
However, in fair weather this morning, half a dozen people happily met to praise God and proclaim Christ: who says we can’t be creative!
