Church of England guidance
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement that public worship can resume in our church buildings with effect from Sunday July 5th, the Church of England, after consultation with HMG, has published guidelines for all churches to follow. The document is quite long and detailed and may seem bureaucratic to some: however, the Government and the Church have our best interests at heart. The Wardens and I will seek to follow these guidelines as far as is practically possible and I thought that it would be useful to publish them on our website (they are publicly available on the C of E website) so that anyone in our congregations might know what reasonably to expect of our physical as opposed to virtual services. These constraints might well become the “new normal” for quite some time.
I very much look forward to welcoming those of you who wish to attend this Sunday’s service of Holy Communion in St John’s at 10:30am. Arrangements for the rest of July will appear on the website and in Benefice News in due course. Nic (nic@saxstjohns.org.uk)
