St John’s is now a Swift friendly environment with 6 nesting boxes located under the eaves on the North side of the Nave. The purchase of the boxes was generously funded by a donation from local wildlife enthusiasts and a small team drawn from the usual suspects installed them, together with a calling system to attract the birds, in time for their return to Saxmundham in the next couple of weeks.
Psalm 84:1-4 New International Version (NIV)
How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!
My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.
